CONSTRUCTION GROUP EYES £650M TURNOVER BY YEAR END

A Northampton-based construction group behind the Rushden Lakes retail scheme, Sports Direct’s Shirebrook headquarters and Derby Commercial Park has said it expects to report a turnover of £650m for its current financial year.

Winvic Group, which runs Winvic Construction, made the forecast in newly filed documents for its year to 31 January 2020 in which its turnover increased from £628.1m to £685.9m while its pre-tax profits went from £20.4m to £9.3m.

The business operates in the industrial, commercial, retail, education and infrastructure development sectors and also specialises in fit out work.

A total of 32 projects were completed in the year while 35 were started across five main operating sectors.

The group has also worked on projects for Lidl, McDonalds, Luton Airport, H&M, Waitrose, Samworth Brothers, M&S, John Lewis, Costco and Royal Mail.

A statement signed off by the board said: “Winvic Construction Ltd has delivered another year of sustained growth and strong financial performance for the year ending January 2020.

“The company has secured year on year growth in all operating sectors.

“The group’s prospects look very positive for 2020 and beyond with a forward order book of £904m, £575m for the current year, with a pipeline of secured contracts across our five key operating sectors, including £125m within multi-room.”
