Chatsworth Charity Annual Dinner

1st September 2023

In the fantastic surroundings of The Stables at Chatsworth House, representatives from Acres Engineering joined the ABF The Soldiers Charity Annual Dinner. Commencing with a drinks reception and music from a Military Band, the evening was then followed by delicious food and a guest speaker.

Located just three and a half miles, north-east of Bakewell, the organisation partnered with local Merchant, Hattersley Wines. Celebrations kick-started with the brilliant Derbyshire ACF Band, who were given the opportunity to perform for attendees at the beginning of the night.

This year’s gathering welcomed Guest Speaker, Corporal Andy Reid MBE who suffered from catastrophic injuries in an IED explosion whilst serving with the Yorkshire Regiment in Afghanistan in 2009. With help from the Charity, Andy has overcome his injuries and is now a passionate ambassador, fundraiser and motivational speaker. In 2023, his autobiography was realised named, Standing Tall: The Inspirational Story of a True British Hero.

ABF The Soldiers Charity is the Army’s national charity to support soldiers, past or present, and their families. Acres Engineering is a huge supporter of the Armed Forces and is a member of The Defence Employer Recognition Scheme. It was an honour to have received a request from HM Lord-Lieutenant, Mrs Elizabeth Fothergill to be a part of this significant occasion.
