Acres attends invitation-only Lockheed Martin event
This week, Luke Parker and Alison Parker were proud to represent Acres Engineering at the Derbyshire King’s Awards for Enterprise Breakfast Event, hosted by Marvin Cooke at the University of Derby’s Cavendish Building.
Last week Bruce Spencer out Defense lead attended the Lockheed Martin conference in Leeds – it was a fascinating insight into what is happening in the UK & US.
Key points from the event:
- There is an ever accelerating thrust for space and the use of space in commerce. Unprecedented demand and US industry is having to throttle Up.
- Capability and capacity is in short supply across the space industry.
- International growth is the only answer.
- Defence has an immediate interest and is generating considerable activity. Emerging threats are driving ever more innovative approaches across sectors.
- All the 40 contractors in the room had been invited on the basis that they had a unique quality to bring to LM.
- UK Space agency deeply engaged and supporting the Space innovation.
We were also invited to join Lockheed Martin’s “Ignite” – the company’s faster-moving innovation arm.
