Acres Engineering Welcomes Honorary Consul of France
Acres Engineering was delighted to welcome Jean-Claude Lafontaine, Honorary Consul of France for the East Midlands and Chief Executive Officer of Innaxys Ltd, to our Melbourne Derbyshire headquarters ahead of the ‘Melbourne Remembers Lancastria’ event to Discuss Innovation, Industry and International Collaboration.
The visit provided an opportunity to showcase Acres Engineering’s manufacturing capabilities, discuss the importance of engineering and technology in supporting UK industry, and explore the role that international collaboration plays in driving innovation, economic growth and regional prosperity.
As Managing Director Luke Parker guided Jean-Claude through the facility, discussions focused on the challenges and opportunities facing British manufacturing, the importance of developing future talent, and the vital contribution that small and medium-sized enterprises make to both the UK economy and national resilience.
Jean-Claude brings a unique perspective through his leadership of Innaxys, a Derbyshire-based technology company specialising in secure digital solutions for public sector, defence and emergency service organisations, alongside his role representing French interests across the East Midlands.
The visit also highlighted the strong and enduring relationship between the United Kingdom and France, particularly within engineering, technology, defence and industrial collaboration. Both organisations share a commitment to innovation, skills development and supporting the communities in which they operate.
