Thank you to everybody that came to our D-Day80 Remembrance event.
The sun was shining 🌞 & the Acres grill was flaming 🔥🌭 🤤
It was fantastic to mark the anniversary with a bbq for our staff, veterans & cadets, along with local MP Heather Wheeler.
We set up a memorial candle station designed and manufactured by Acres. There was plenty of food, some retro soft drinks along with tea and biscuits.

This year marks the 80th Anniversary of the D-Day landings. On June 6, 1944, the world witnessed the largest seaborne invasion in history, known as D-Day. This significant event involved a meticulously coordinated assault by Allied forces on the beaches of Normandy, France. Alongside the intense seaborne landings, a series of daring airborne operations were conducted to secure key positions inland. The RBL will be hosting a service of Remembrance at the National Memorial Arboretum on 6 June 2024, at 2 pm to commemorate 80 years since the iconic D-Day landings.

Alongside the service, the RBL will be welcoming eligible D-Day and Normandy veterans and their families in a dedicated VIP area.
