Steps in the right direction…

Representatives from Acres attended a charity dinner raising money for Steps Conductive Education Centre. 

 

Steps Conductive Education Centre is a charity located in Shepshed, Leicestershire, dedicated to assisting children with motor disorders and their families. Utilising Conductive Education, developed in Hungary, it focuses on enhancing the development and independence of those with neurological impairments through a holistic, structured teaching approach. The Centre offers a range of services, including support groups and educational sessions for various age groups, from infants to children over 5, aiming to integrate them into mainstream schools. These services are provided free of charge, showcasing the charity’s commitment to improving the lives of children with special educational needs and their families.

 

Rosemary Conley CBE DL Patron of Steps gave a heart felt overview of the charity and its activities.

Rosemary is an author, and broadcaster renowned for her work in exercise and health. She gained fame through her low-fat diet and exercise program, notably through “The Hip & Thigh Diet” launched in 1988, which sold more than two million copies.

The evening was hosted at Staunton Harold hall by the kind permission of the owner Mr John Blunt and organised/ compared by Ray Morris. Ray Morris is a councillor for the North West Leicestershire District Council and serves as the Chairman of the Council. Ray did a fantastic job arranging the evening which raised almost £7,000.00 for the charity.
