VE Day 80 staff BBQ in the sun! 🍔🌭🍺
On Friday afternoon, we wrapped up work a little early to mark the 80th anniversary of VE Day. With the sun shining and spirits high, it was a privilege to serve our team and fire up the Acres mega BBQ and cook for them.
On Friday afternoon, we wrapped up work a little early to mark the 80th anniversary of VE Day. With the sun shining and spirits high, it was a privilege to serve our team and fire up the Acres mega BBQ and cook for them.
80 years ago, communities across the country came together in relief and gratitude, as peace was declared in Europe after years of hardship, sacrifice, and courage.
We gather not only to remember that historic moment but to pay tribute to the men and women—both on the front lines and at home—whose bravery secured our freedom. Many were from villages just like Melbourne where we are based.
It was a joy to see a number of staff bringing their partners and young children/ babies to the BBQ to share in the experience and for them to learn about VE Day.
We find that anniversaries like this are a great way to remember, inform and share special moments with our staff.
