The Pingle Academy gets involved with Manufacturing Day 2023.

Representatives Alice and Deanna met with Janet Gostick (Raising Aspirations Coordinator) and Deborah Holland (Business Studies Teacher) to take a guided tour of The Pingle Academy. During the visit to the Design & Technology Division, HR Manager, Alice Parker noticed the possibility to collaborate. Allowing students to use our in-house Water-jet and Laser Cutting Machines to complete their School projects.

It was insightful to see how supportive and guiding the School was for students looking at Career Pathways including Apprenticeships. Acres Engineering was in talks with The Pingle Academy, in hope to take on students in Year 12 studying Engineering, for their Work Experience.

This comes after, the announcement that Make UK’s National Manufacturing Day will be returning for 2023. To celebrate NMD, Acres Engineering are inviting local Schools to bring students for an eye-opening experience.

National Manufacturing Day demonstrates the value of a Manufacturing Apprenticeship. Looking at engaging with students, parents, teachers, community leaders and local residents; NMD will show the reality of modern manufacturing careers.

After, confirming their involvement with the event. The Pingle Academy discussed the opportunity to bring students studying History and Engineering for GSCE. We look forward to welcoming The Pingle Academy, as well as other local Schools on the 26th of September. With the ambition to drive more students into manufacturing, we aim by opening our doors, we can inspire both girls and boys to be interested in an exhilarating career.
