World Servitization Convention

18th September 2020

Well done to Professor Tim Baines and his team at the Advanced Services Group, Aston Business School for their well organised ‘World Servitization Convention’ that ran three days from 14-16 September 2020.

Fantastic effort to all of the key note speakers,

It was interesting to hear from Chris Borrill, Services Leader, Land & Air Systems at Thales about their integrated approach to help their customers make decisions using the data they provide. The 5 business lines and the journey that they have gone through growing the service side of the business, especially the ‘holy grail’ tree keys for continued growth. It’s impressive to see the big investments that they are continuing to make in R&D.

I was amazed at Matt Skipworth presentation, Senior Manager, Service Solutions, Terex AWP. I had no idea that Terex represented such a wide range of brands that sit within its group including Genie and Fuchs etc. It was great to hear his passion for the lean process that they have gone through…

Great to see Alan Mucklow, MD UK & Ireland Sales and Services Division, Yamazaki Mazak represented a family owned business that has demonstrated success and longevity established over 100 years ago. It was great to hear the value of apprenticeships from the person at the top, along with their transformation from a product business to a service focus.
