DVS ZERT GmbH and TWI CL Form Partnership to Support UK and European Manufacturers
TWI Certification Ltd (TWI CL) and German Certification Body DVS ZERT GmbH have joined forces to support UK, German and European, steel and aluminium structure manufacturers. Those who wish to place their products on the UK market have the opportunity to UKCA or CE/CE(UK)NI) mark their products, while those UK manufacturers who wish to export to Germany and/or Europe, and require EU FPC certification to CE mark their products, can do so through this partnership agreement.
TWI CL, a TWI Group company, was formed in 1993 to exemplify the independence and impartiality required to deliver certification in accordance with international standards. DVS ZERT GmbH was founded in 1994, and has extensive experience in the certification of management systems, products and the requirements on welding quality and factory production control.
“We are delighted to have formed this new partnership with DVS ZERT GmbH, which means that current and future clients, whose business includes exporting steel and aluminium structures for the UK or European markets, of both our companies, will now have access to the required certification directly through their current certification body,” said Emma Freckingham, Head of Company Certification for TWI CL.
CE marking allows companies to sell their products in the countries of the European Economic Area (EEA), demonstrating that their products meet the requirements of relevant European product directives, and harmonised performance and safety standards. CE marking is mandatory for most types of products sold in Europe and must be displayed on their surface or packaging.
“We are very pleased to have entered into this agreement with our colleagues from TWI CL, and we have had numerous requests from our customers for the UKCA mark. The partnership between TWI CL and DVS ZERT reflects our complementary expertise, and we believe It is an excellent model for both our companies and their customers,” added Martin Lehmann, CEO of DVS ZERT GmbH.
In order to be able to add a UKCA, CE (UKNI) or CE Mark CE to their structural products, manufacturers must undergo conformity assessment of Factory Product Control (FPC). This enables them to demonstrate that their products are produced using designs, processes and procedures that meet the quality specifications of EN1090-1.
EN1090-1 is the harmonised supporting standard that sets the requirements for conformity assessment of steel and aluminium structures, and is the standard that TWI CL’s Conformity Assessment of the Execution of Steel and Aluminium Structures (CAESAS) Scheme is written in accordance with
