Wavenet Expands With Fresh Acquisition.

10th February 2023

Wavenet, a Solihull-based business telecommunications and technology services provider, has expanded with the acquisition of an advanced penetration testing consultancy.

The company has purchased Cambridge-based Fidus Information Security, which provides advanced penetration services to help businesses assess and strengthen their IT security.

Founded in 2017, the business now works with hundreds of private and public organisations around the globe.

“Fidus are renowned in the industry for their penetration testing services, they hold numerous cyber security accreditations and, with this acquisition, they bring an abundance of knowledge and experience to the Wavenet Group,” said Wavenet chief executive Bill Dawson.

“They have a talented team who have a passion for operating at the highest standards, going beyond the normal industry best-practice principles and they share our value of putting customer needs at the heart of everything we do.”

Kurtis Baron, founder and MD at Fidus, added: “The acquisition of Fidus Information Security by Wavenet represents an exciting time for us; Wavenet’s passion and dedication to invest in cyber security will enable us to extend our reach into new markets.

“Together, we will continue to grow our existing cybersecurity offerings and guide organisations in every aspect of their IT security systems. I am immensely enthusiastic about this acquisition, and what the future will offer to our customers and our staff.”

David Ball from Ashcroft led the deal.

He said: “It’s been a pleasure working with Kurtis and the Fidus team, witnessing their incredible journey first-hand.

“We’re delighted to have advised them throughout this process. Wavenet are perfectly placed to support the team as the business enters its next phase of growth.”

Wavenet’s financial advice was provided by Dow Schofield Watts Transaction Services LLP, and legal advice was provided by Nimbus Legal.
