Acres receive pre-install approval for large nuclear power station platform.

26th July 2013

A set of three access platforms, designed, manufactured and installed, by Acres Engineering. Following receipt of the order in May 013 Acres have successfully completed the Nuclear energy security vetting and design compliance/approval process. The picture on the right shows the platform without its support structure. The end units will be approximately four metres above floor level.

This week the first platform has been inspected by the EDF energy team and the project has been given the given the go ahead to proceed. We are extremely happy that the visit was successful and the platform meets the clients expectations.

The aim of the project is to reduce outage time and eliminate the use scaffolding with its attendant costs and risks. As a permanent fixture to the turbine/generator set there will be full and uninterrupted access for any maintenance and inspection operations.

The platforms will now be dis-assembled ready for a stove baked enamel powder coat painting process, ready for a the planned delivery and site installation.
