National Manufacturing Conference 2020
Acres Engineering attend the National Manufacturing Conference 2020
From an emotionally charged opening by Richard Paxman to Steph McGovern announcing her move from the BBC to Channel 4 ….the MAKE UK conference didn’t fail to surprise and impress.
The MAKE UK team introduced the new Global Britain with a majority government that can make decisions. Promoting their very positive high drum beat with government, now that we are out of the EU and into the transition period.
Discussion highlights included the Canadian Style Trade Agreement, i4 Agenda, Cob26, Digital Revolution and International trade deals.
Andrew Neil was informative and entertaining. He predicted that Britain will not go into recession this year. Real wages and asset values will rise and that the stars are aligned for growth. Although very much unspectacular, slow growth at 3%. But with full employment and the 11th year of recovery we are performing well against the Eurozone who has twice the levels of UK unemployment.
So what’s going to happen in 2020-2021? Wages up, automation up and investment into the Midlands and the North.
Lord Coe was mesmerising with his stories about his father’s coaching techniques and how it shaped his leadership technique when organising the London Games.
Sounds like there are great opportunities for business in 2020, and for Acres to support businesses in becoming more efficient and delivering on their growth ambitions.
It was fantastic to catch up with the team from ITP Group, network with industry peers and also see some of the leading apprentices from OEMs such as Airbus and BAE.
