Mould Trays

The Mould Trays have been designed for a large midlands based OEM within the aerospace sector. They have been designed to securely locate ceramic moulds during the production of gas turbine engines.

Scope of Work:
Produce CAD drawings and manufacture Mould Trays based around information supplied by customer to drawing number AD-118-2013-03.

The trays will allow the moulds to run on conveyor track through the weigh, inspection and repair areas. To safely locate the base plate they will be fitted with machined PTFE blocks to hold it in position and allow air flow under the plate. The blocks will attach to a 2mm stainless steel laser cut plate with CNC formed pressed sides. A perforated effect within the base has been developed in order to improve air flow around the base of the mould.
