Billet Trolley
Billet Trolley – REF 2016-11-13116
The Billet trolley has been manufactured for an international Aerospace company for use within the turbine blade casting process. The trolley has been designed to carry two types of 4” nickel based alloy billets. The billets are 101.6mm in diameter and range in length from 190mm to 400mm. They are oriented in the vertical axis to interface with a furnace loading mechanism.
The billets sit in a custom fabricated segregated housing that houses 8 off billets. It is fabricated from 3mm stainless steel plate with cut out sections in the base to allow ease of cleaning, each billet sits on 10mm thick stainless steel cross section to prevent damage to the base on the housing.
The trolley is fabricated from a 25mm square box section frame with 25mm circular hollow section handles. These handles are offset to alternate heights to allow them to interlock reducing the footprint within the storage area.
The trolley features fork lift truck guides for lifting and lowering on to vehicles for transportation between facilities. The trolley is assembled with large diameter 200mm castors, 2 off swivel and 2 off fixed for manoeuvring around the cells. To lock the trolley in position it also has a foot operated truck lock mounted on the side. To one side there is a fabricated document pocket to allow documentation to travel with the billets.
The trolley has been powder coated in cream RAL 9001 to provide a hard wearing, long lasting finish.
