High Visibility Kitting Trolley – REF: 2015-07-11846
The High Visibility Kitting Trolley has been produced for a large international aerospace client to securely house components. Components can be kitted and contained on plastic shelves and within the drawers of the trolley.
Scope of work:
Design and manufacture a high visibility kitting trolley to Acres drawing number: AD-737-2015-07
The drawer units are manufactured using plastic box section and angle type PE300 which is a strong, recyclable material. The drawer is designed for a maximum load of 8Kg. Each drawer can slide in and out and is replaceable. Note that only one drawer should be pulled out at a time to reduce the tipping risk.
There are fourteen drawers in total, any of these drawers can be simply removed and stored. The lowest set of runners can be used to hold Euro Boxes for storage of larger components.
The main body of the trolley is fabricated from 30mm x 30mm box section, chosen for its ideal combination of weight and strength.
The doors are shut using a chrome handle and can be fitted with a locking system if required. The trolley is clad in polycarbonate panelling which allows visibility of the trolley contents.
Castors and handling:
The trolley is mounted on 4 off 200mm diameter heavy duty swivel castors with brakes. The castors have been specifically chosen for their high specification. The tyres are non-marking blue elastic rubber fitted onto a black plastic centre. The wheel is fitted into a zinc plated steel housing with double ball race and swivel head.
Each castor has a load rating of 500kg. We typically recommend 2 fixed and 2 swivel with brake castors on trolleys, however an all swivel solution will easily allow the operator to turn the trolley on the spot.
The floor of the unit is manufactured from 6.0mm Mild Steel plate which will enable the trolley to be moved via a forklift or pallet truck.
The overall weight of the assembly is 285kg.
