Transport Trolley – Ref: 2015-07-11830
The transport trolley was commissioned by a large UK based OEM and has been designed for use on a site with height restrictions preventing regular access. The trolley will be used to transport power generation units and has been load tested to a capacity of 8000kg.
Scope of work:
To design and manufacture a low access transportation trolley to drawing number: AD-742-2015-07-1.
Construction:
The main frame of the trolley has been manufactured using 100mm x 60mm x 6mm rectangular hollow section. The supporting beams are made from a mixture of 80mm x 80mm x 5mm and 50mm x 50mm x 3mm square hollow section. The frame is finished with a hard-wearing RAL 1018 Zinc Yellow powder coat.
A height adjustable A-frame handle allows the trolley to be towed by a fork lift truck. The trolley is mounted on solid machined 300mm diameter nylon castors, two fixed and two swivel with brakes.
The design features load support plates for the build stand and the surface of the trolley is also fitted with a non-slip 38mm square open mesh GRP grating. The load plates have been drilled with colour coded holes which allow multiple sizes of power generation unit to be mounted to the trolley.
