Acres attends “National Transition Event” at Silverstone Circuit
As a proud holder of the Armed Forces Covenant Gold Award, we are always looking for ways to support members of the armed forces both past and present.
On Monday March 2nd Acres Engineering attended the National Transition Event at Silverstone, organised by Mission Motorsport and Mission Community , showcasing work experience and employment opportunities. As a proud MOD Gold Award holder we highlighted our commitment to supporting the armed forces community, including service leavers, cadets, veterans, and their families.
It brought together over 1000 Service Leavers, Veterans, and their families with employers and veterans in industry. The event focused on providing insight, networking opportunities, and support for transitioning to successful and sustainable civilian careers.
The National Transition Event continued to build on past successes to create an impactful and innovative experience for attendees. It provides a forum for Service Leavers, Veterans, and their families seeking connections with companies, sharing good practices, and to discuss ways to engage with the Armed Forces community for mutual benefit. Companies are encouraged to bring their own Veteran employees to help attendees transition into civilian employment and understand how their military skills can be translated.
Arriving at 7:30 AM to set up, Acres explored the other exhibitors’ stands, AFC signings and engaged with hundreds of service leavers to discuss opportunities and gaining an insight into the vast array of skills available in armed forces personnel. Some of the team also had the chance to experience a fast and furious lap of the legendary Silverstone GP circuit in a Porsche!
