New notice board sign donated to 900 year old Melbourne Parish C of E Church
Back in January we posted about our project to replace the sign at Melbourne Parish Church (Click Here) – We’ve been working behind the scenes to make this come to reality.
A design meeting in June with representatives of the church agreed the final details of the shape, colours and content of the sign.
After discussing mounting methods and addressing any Health & Safety issues (Due to being in a public location) We then began the design work in CAD – Warwick produced a final design and passed this over to our Laser operator to begin the process of cutting the main sheet metal.
After having a return bent into the bottom edge on our CNC Press Brake and 2x mounting brackets welded to the rear
This was then passed over to our Powder Coating department for surface finishing and coating.
Once out of the oven, cooled and quality checked, we mounted the rainproof A2 poster frame and A5 leaflet holders.
On a warm summer Friday our team then took the sign to the church, after removing the old sign and prepping the posts, mounted it – fitting perfectly as planned.
At this point we passed the reins over to our neighbor Castle Lane Studios, who kindly offered to cut and applied the lettering using waterproof signage vinyl at no cost. It was decided to use cut vinyl instead of a printed finish as it makes it easier to make additions or changes later on.
The finished sign in all its glory, just in time for the Sunday service and dedication ceremony by the Revd. Canon Rosemary Donovan.
