Acres have been involved in the Make UK Defence meet the buyer event aimed at introducing companies that could support each other.
The event was aimed at two industries, Aerospace and Space. Acres has a long history of working in the UK’s Aerospace industry. The UK’s aerospace industry is worth £33 billion, emphasising its significant economic impact and position as a leader in high-value manufacturing. The UK’s aerospace industry holds the position of being the largest in Europe and the second-largest in the world, showcasing its pivotal role on the global stage. This status underscores the UK’s expertise in high-value manufacturing and its contribution to international aerospace development and innovation.
Space indeed is becoming a forefront of economic, scientific, and strategic endeavours globally. The burgeoning space industry, exemplified by the UK’s robust growth in this sector, underscores the increasing importance of space activities. This growth is fuelled by advancements in technology, the expanding scope of space applications (ranging from telecommunications to earth observation and beyond), and the increasing participation of private enterprises alongside traditional governmental space agencies. The UK space industry’s significant turnover, substantial employment figures, and its position as a key player in the global space market highlight the sector’s vitality. The steady increase in the number of organisations involved in space-related activities indicates a broadening of the sector, encompassing both traditional space companies and new entrants from various sectors beginning to explore space-based opportunities.
