Strengthening Defence Engagement: Acres Welcomes WO2 Wayne Hall & Toby from Chetwynd Barracks
This week, we were pleased to welcome WO2 Wayne Hall (BA Hons, PGCE) and his colleague Toby from Chetwynd Barracks, Chilwell to Acres Engineering for an onsite presentation exploring the opportunities available within the Army Reserves.
The session was attended by a number of Acres team members and formed part of our ongoing commitment to supporting reservists, cadets, and the wider Armed Forces community — a key pillar of our Armed Forces Covenant Gold Award status.
An Insightful Look into Reserve Service
Wayne delivered an engaging and informative overview of what it means to become a reservist, including:

- From engineering and logistics to cyber, medical, intelligence, and specialist technical roles.

Feedback from attendees was very positive, with one of Acres’ Design Engineer Apprentices showing real interest in exploring the opportunities further — a fantastic example of how Armed Forces engagement can help inspire and develop the next generation of engineers.
