High-Visibility Kitting Module

The High Visibility Kitting Module has been developed for a large multinational OEM within the aerospace industry. The role of the kitting module is to eliminate all cardboard parts packaging currently used on  site before parts are sent to the build line.

Scope of work:

Design and manufacture a kitting module to customer specifications using Acres drawing: AD-836-2015-11

The high visibility kitting module is a brand new design which provides an alternative to previous modules (Module A and Module B). It features primarily Perspex panelling which gives a weight reduction of approximately 30kg for each unit.

Each module features 5 off extendable drawers which hold plastic trays with foam inserts. The inserts have CNC machined cut outs to house the parts. This reduces the risk of metal to metal contact of the parts. The units have 2 off doors which open back flat against the sides. The outer panels are made from Perspex to make parts visible even when the doors are closed.

The modules are assembled with 200mm diameter castors, 2 off fixed and 2 off swivel with total lock brakes.

The unit is powder coated to give a hard wearing, durable finish.
