Large Tube Kitting Box

The large tube kitting box has been designed for the Integrated Logistic Centre of a large midlands based Aerospace OEM. Acres were approached to provide a reusable solution for kitting that’s key role was to eliminate all cardboard parts packaging before parts are sent to the build line.

The main kitting box has been manufactured from 6mm thick PE300 sheet reinforced with 50mm x 50mm x 3mm PE300 box section. The solution features a removable lid securely fastened with 6 off toggle latches. 4 off bridge handles ensure the lid can be removed and replaced simply and ergonomically, conforming with health a safety advisories.

The PE300 box drops into a mild steel base frame fabricated from a combination of 40mm x 40mm x 3mm square box section and 50mm x 50mm x 3mm RSA. This framework provides the whole assembly with additional strength whilst also allowing fork lift truck access for assistance with manoeuvring long distances. 2 fixed and 2 swivel with brake castors ensure the kitting box can be easily manoeuvred manually around site also.
