Vane Transport Box

The Vane Transport Boxes have been designed and manufactured for an aerospace client and will transport gas turbine engine vanes between two of the customers UK sites. The client required a solution that could remove the need to use wooden packaging, reducing the chances of foreign object debris.

The boxes have been plastic fabricated from 6mm thick PE300 polyethylene and feature 30 off slots to locate the vanes (3 rows of 10), a lid, which is to be held in place by 8 off toggle catches (2 off per side) covers the top to protect the vanes while in transit.

The base section has been manufactured from mild steel angle on which the main box will sit. below this pressed sheet steel fork lift truck pockets have been included for manoeuvring the vanes between vehicles.

Mild steel parts have been powder coated in a Blue 20 D 45 to provide a hard wearing long lasting finish.

Internal Slot (Vane) Size – 940mm (D) x 290mm (L) x 85mm (W)

Overall Size –  1090mm (H) x 936mm (W) x 910mm (L)

The solution includes 2 Vinyl ID labels at opposite ends, displaying transport instructions and the contents of each box.
