BAE Systems has successfully secured a new munitions order from the UK MoD, valued at £130 million

BAE Systems has obtained an extra £130 million in new orders for munition supply to the UK Ministry of Defence. The MoD’s choice to expand the supply contract, initially announced at £280 million in July, has led to this award, now totaling £410 million.

The full order with Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S), part of the MoD, will be delivered via two BAE Systems facilities at Washington in Tyne and Wear and Glascoed in South Wales. This comprehensive contract will result in the creation of over 200 new positions, requiring highly skilled workers, across these sites. This initiative will augment the company’s existing UK munitions workforce, which currently stands at 1,200 employees.
