High Visibility Storage Unit

The high visibility storage unit has been designed for the Engine Overhaul and Service centre of a local Midlands based OEM operating within the aerospace sector. The storage unit will be used for both the transportation and storage of components ready for an engine build or strip process.

Construction:

Engine components are securely contained on plastic shelves within the trolley to prevent any metal to metal contact.

The shelves  have been manufactured using a plastic box section and angle type PE300 which is a strong, recyclable material. The shelves are designed for a maximum load of 8Kg. Each shelf has been fixed in position.

There are fourteen left hand shelves and 4 right hand shelves. Right hand shelves have a divider lip to prevent parts moving into the left hand compartment. The bottom runners have been designed to house engine vanes on PE300 backed foams.

The main body of the storage unit has been fabricated from 30mm x 30mm box section, chosen for its ideal combination of weight and strength.

The storage unit has been clad in polycarbonate allowing visibility of the trolley contents.

Castors and handling:

The high visibility storage unit has 4 off 100mm diameter heavy duty swivel castors with brakes. The castors have been specifically chosen for their high specification. The tyres are non-marking blue elastic rubber fitted onto a black plastic centre. Each castor has a load rating of 350kg.

The approximate overall size of our solution is: 1330mm (L) x 994mm (W) x 2186mm (H)

The approximate overall weight of the cart is 285kg.
