Lifting Beam

Scope:

The Department of Physics at the University of Oxford reached out to Acres with a requirement to manufacture a Lifting Beam for an Upending Frame, that Acres has previously provided. The lifting beam had to be specific to be able to suit the clients’ requirements, it must have a SWL of 250kg, be suitable for lifting straps or chains to be affixed by shackles. To achieve this SWL Acres determined the best material to be used would be 60 x 40 x 5mm Rectangular Hollow Box-Section. FEA simulation and physical load tests were completed to ensure the SWL is verified, finally a powder coat to RAL 9010 Pure white was applied, to ensure a long-lasting and durable finish.

Acres Engineering are experts are designing and manufacturing lifting beams and equipment. Ensuring all relevant SWL are tested and achieved and providing certification when required. If you have any enquiries, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Solution:

Manufacture of lifting beam with 250kg safe working load. Overall length 1196mm with central pick up paint and locations for shackles/ slings at each end.
