Splitter Fairing Trolley

The Splitter Fairing Trolley has been designed and manufactured for a major Midlands based aerospace client for use within the engine overhaul and services department for transporting and storing Splitter Fairings during the service of gas turbine engines.

Unique in design, the Splitter Fairing Trolley is capable of holding splitters up to 1700mm in diameter and 105mm in thickness. The major benefit of this solution is its ability to nest the trolleys together, even when the component is loaded. This unique deliverable results in a saving of valuable space within the engine overhaul and services facility.

The splitter trolley frame is manufactured 30mm mild steel box section with 4 off 100mm diameter blue rubber castors. The splitter is secured in position by 4 off machined foam holder’s manufactured from Plastazote LD 45, eliminating any risk of metal to metal contact on high value components. Plastazote LD45 is a closed cell polyethylene foam and has been chosen because of its durable, tough and flexible properties.

The solution has been powder coated in RAL 7035 Light Grey to provide a long lasting hard wearing finish.
